The Vintage Heart

She speaks with words of wisdom
For life has taught her much.
Charm and grace adorn her.
There is softness in her touch.

The tales she tells are bittersweet,
A blend of joy and pain,
For as her loved ones pass away
Her memories still remain.

She talks to God throughout the day
For he’s become her friend,
The one she can depend on
Time and time again.

She reaches out to those in need.
She is quick to lend a hand.
Many share their problems
For she seems to understand.

She labors daily for the lord
For heaven is her goal,
And though her body age and die
There is strength within her soul.

Her days on earth are numbered
For life goes by so fast.
But all that she has done for Christ
Has value that will last.

Good morning, beloved ones.

The writings of Corrie ten Boom and Amy Carmichael inspire and delight me this summer. Dare I hope that they will mold me as well? These two treasures in jars of clay, now sharing Heaven with their own spiritual mothers, have blessed me beyond measure through their teachings of hope and possibilities, strength in challenges and daily journeys with Father. I want to be a loving servant and make a difference in the world, too, don't you? As the old saying goes, "Hitch your wagon to a star...and add a T"...*smile.

"I want to sign Your Name to the end of this day knowing that my heart was true." -Casting Crowns

Thankful for the "Great Crowd of Witnesses",
Karen
